1. Why do I need to transfer the license?

A license is tied to one computer. If you want to

  • swtich to a new computer
  • or share one license on multiple computers

You need to free the key from your computer by transferrring it so another computer can use the same key to activate M2 program.

2. How to transfer a license to another computer?

  • Open the M2 program --> select the Help menu (question mark in upper right hand corner) --> click on Transfer Product License.
  • Your license key has now been returned to your account. Use the same account ID and activation key to activate it on another computer.

3. When transferring the license, will the program transfer the project files to another computer?

No, the program won't transfer or share your project files across different computers when you transfer the license.

4. How can I share files across multiple computers?

If you want to share the files across different computers, we suggest:

  • Use an external drive for file sharing

A lot of people look at external hard drives as safe places to keep their data in case their computer crashes. But external drives can also be used to share files between computers within your home or workplace network. This way, you can keep everything in one central location so that you dont have to burden your computer or mobile devices with huge data files. If you're on a Windows 8 computer, you can put your files in a Public folder or you can set up specific users to have access to any folder in your hard drive. If youre using a Mac, sharing can be accomplished through OS/X Mountain Lion. Regardless of what operating system you have, using the external drive method gives you the power to access your files from any room in your house or workplace.

  • Use your thumb (drive)

Zip drives (which also go by other commonly used names like USB drives or thumb drives) are a quick and easy way to share files between computers. They're also incredibly easy to use, and let you transfer files to just about anywhere. The only drawback is that it cant be done remotely: you still have to physically carry the thumb drive from one location to another in order to do the transfer.

  • Share files in the Cloud

Another great sharing idea is to set up a personal cloud storage account. Not only does this let you access your stuff from anywhere at anytime, but you can also give access to your coworkers. This is one of the simplest ways to share files between computers, and the cool thing about this is that you dont even have to be in the same city, state, or even country. If you dont have a personal cloud storage account already, you can get free and easy access through popular services like Dropbox and Google Drive.
